More about Heather:

1. What is the mission of Dragonfly Direction?

I provide connection, resources and accountability to people and businesses who want to achieve more than the status quo. This is accomplished through personal coaching, public speaking and business consulting.

2. What is your professional background?

I have a really fun career story. I spent most of my career thus far in case management, social services and human resources. I'm really passionate about helping Indiana companies put the Human aspect of Human Resources back into HR, through a virtual workforce to empower people across the state.

3. What inspired you to start Dragonfly Direction?

Truthfully, I was tired of watching big corporations provide below average leadership and employee engagement programs. Like many entrepreneurs, I developed something that works better.

4. What is the biggest challenge starting up your business?

For me, my concepts are very much for innovative companies and people. The biggest challenge is finding people and companies who are forward thinking like myself. I want a brighter better future for myself, my family and ultimately the world. It only takes a few people to implement big change, and I want to be part of the movement.

5. Who is the typical Dragonfly Direction client?

Innovative companies looking to expand their teams virtually, especially in more rural areas.

6. What services do you offer through Dragonfly Direction?

When I begin my business, my main focus was personal coaching. Since then, I've begun to think bigger and am transitioning my business to HR consulting. However, I still offer the following services: Personal Coaching, Accountability Coaching, Public Speaking, Workshop Development and Human Resources Consulting.

7. What are your plans for growth over the next year?

If there were no limitations, I would be working with some of the top innovative tech companies in Indiana and the state to implement big change in the workforce. That is what I am working toward.

8. What would you tell your younger self?

Keep showing up. It takes courage to keep showing up; even when it's uncomfortable, do it anyway.

9. What advice do you have for other women thinking about starting up a business?

Get ready for the wildest ride of your life and the best self improvement program available. Entrepreneurship has provided many opportunities for me to lean into my edges and grow where I didn't think it was possible.

10. How have The Startup Ladies helped you grow?

Can I just say how grateful I am for Kristen and The Startup Ladies? I was a high school dropout and teen mom. Life has not been easy for me, and The Startup Ladies has provided me with the opportunity to get the education and resources that I deserve, but had to forfeit to raise a family. The community of people who show up are my tribe, and I learn from each of them and am equally inspired by their courage to listen to the little voice inside their souls whispering, "what if this works". I could go on and on. This is such a great organization and platform on a million levels!!
